This is a rare Ballard Pacific made by the Ballard Rifle and Cartridge Company in Cody, Wyoming. According to Steve Garbe, Ballard Rifle and Cartridge Company only made 3 to 5 Ballard Pacific two barrel sets. The .38-72 barrel is 30" long and the .40-70 Sharps Straight barrel is 32" long. Both barrels are drilled and tapped for scope blocks and the .40-70 Sharps Straight barrel has both scope blocks and a MVA Globe front sight. Rifle includes 31 fire formed .38-72 cartridge cases that have been modified to use Large Pistol primers with .38-72 load data, 68 new unfired .40-70 Sharps Straight cartridge cases and a set of RCBS .40-70 Sharps Straight reloading dies. If you have wanted to own one of the best contemporary Ballard Pacific rifles ever made, this is your opportunity. Please call for details. $3,975.00.
NOTE: The .40-70 Sharps Straight barrel is currently installed on the rifle. Also, the rifle is pictured with a .38-50 barrel installed on the rifle but that barrel was not originally part of the two barrel set and is not included. The .38-72 barrel that is included is serial numbered to the rifle.
